What is Semaglutide/Tirzepatide?

Semaglutide and Tirzepatide are highly effective injectable weight loss prescription medicines. When used in conjunction with diet and exercise, Semaglutide, Tirzepatide provide an excellent way to optimize weight management. Semaglutide was approved by the FDA for the treatment of diabetes in 2017 and for the treatment of obesity in 2021. Tirzepatide was approved for the treatment of diabetes in 2022. Semaglutide, Tirzepatide are compounds that mimic a naturally occurring hormone in the body known as GLP-1 (glucagon-like peptide-1). This hormone is secreted in the gut and targets multiple receptors throughout the body related to appetite and glucose management. Tirzepatide is a combination medication containing a GLP-1 and a GIP (glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide).

How does Semaglutide, Tirzepatide work?

Semaglutide and Tirzepatide help decrease appetite and maximize nutrient absorption by slowing gastric emptying. It sends a message to your brain communicating that you are full faster, causing you to eat 30-50% less, on average. Semaglutide and Tirzepatide increase insulin sensitivity by the pancreas, which enables your body to become more efficient in processing glucose. Semaglutide also down regulates the liver causing it to produce less glucose. Since Tirzepatide includes the GIP component, it enables your kidneys to remove excess sugar from the body via urination daily. These processes work together to reduce your caloric intake and increase the body's efficiency at processing and eliminating glucose in your body. In clinical studies, participants lost an average of 17-23% of their body weight. For perspective, a 160-pound individual could expect to lose 27.2 pounds (17% of their body weight) over a 3-month period.

How does the Semaglutide weight loss, Tirzapetide weight loss program work?

Our program starts with a thorough telehealth consult, which includes a discussion of your medical history and any prior weight loss programs. During this visit we screen for any contraindications and review how Semaglutide, Tirzapetide works. Your specific program will be discussed during your consultation. However, the general plan and protocol includes a progressively increasing dosage of your weekly self-administered subcutaneous injection. While other companies follow a standard dosing protocol without proper follow-up, we check in with you routinely. Depending on your side effects and desired weight loss, we will customize your dosing each month to fit your plan and lifestyle. We work with you to meet your goals!

After the telehealth consult to ensure Semaglutide, Tirzepatide is a safe option, a medical provider will review and demonstrate how to properly perform the self-administered subcutaneous injection.

Your monthly membership includes the vials of medication, plus any necessary injection supplies. Your order is compounded just for you, which can take 1-2 weeks and it will ship directly to your doorstep!

Does Semaglutide, Tirzepatide require a membership?

Yes, membership is required to have access to the services. This is because these medications are not legally allowed to be sold in Texas without supervision and assistance of medical professionals. Once you complete your consultation visit and become a member of our program, you will receive specially formulated-for-you compounded medicines.

Does Semaglutide, Tirzepatide work for everyone?

After over 11 years of working with GLP-1's, I have found that as in all drugs, nothing works 100% of the time. The benefits discussed above occur in about 85-90% of people who use GLP-1/GIP medications. There are rarely side effects reported while using Semaglutide, Tirzepatide for weight loss. The most common reported side effects are nausea, constipation, and acid reflux. However, with appropriate dosage adjustments and proper guidance regarding water and food intake, these side effects can be reduced and minimized throughout treatment. There are certain people in which the nausea may be debilitating, and these drugs are not for you.

How do I know if Semaglutide or Tirzepatide is a better fit for me?

No need to worry! Your medical provider can discuss the differences between the two and make a proper recommendation for you based on your medical history and weight loss goals.

How can I ensure this weight loss program is successful for me?

These medications are most successful when implemented in conjunction with healthy lifestyle changes. We have seen great success in patients who also focus on three main categories – water intake, healthy diet, and consistent exercise. However, Semaglutide, Tirzepatide helps increase the efficiency and effectiveness of these normal lifestyle changes that aren't always successful on their own. We will work alongside you to help you set proper goals and achieve the weight loss you desire.

Who is not eligible for this program?

Semaglutide cannot be prescribed to anyone with the following and should not be purchased: eating disorder, gallbladder disease, drug or alcohol abuse, recent bariatric surgery, pancreatitis, medullary thyroid cancer, currently pregnant or breastfeeding, planning to become pregnant, diabetic retinopathy, multiple endocrine neoplasia type 2, family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma.

Are there any extra or hidden fees with the Semaglutide, Tirzepatide program?

No! The consultation visit is free. After this step your monthly membership fee will cover all other costs. This includes your live telehealth visits with a licensed medical provider, your compounded medication, and all the supplies needed for your treatment.

How long is the treatment?

The length of treatment depends on the amount of weight you want to lose. One concern, as highlighted by the media on the use of Semaglutide, Tirzapetide is the potential for people to gain weight or “rebound” once they are finished with the program. We believe that not one set protocol works for everyone and have several maintenance plans/options to help our patients keep the weight off.

Will I be hungry?

Most patients do not experience issues with uncontrolled hunger or cravings. Actually, many find even smaller servings to be completely satisfying.

What can I eat?

While a healthy diet is recommended, there are no specific food or calorie restrictions. However, we do recommend a well-balanced protein diet to ensure you lose fat and maintain or gain muscle mass. We here at ThatSkinnyShot.com want our patients to make the right dietary choices, which is why you will have access to a full-time nutritionist (based on your membership plan).

What side-effects can I expect while taking Semaglutide, Tirzepatide?

There are rarely side effects reported while using Semaglutide, Tirzepatide for weight loss. The most common reported side effects are nausea and constipation, but dosage adjustments and proper water intake can help reduce those effects throughout treatment.

Will I need to inject the Semaglutide, Tirzepatide myself?

Yes, but don’t worry! We will teach you how to do a subcutaneous injection (just under the skin into fat, not muscle). While it may sound scary, most patients find it a very quick, easy, and painless process. We will also have you watch a 3-minute video that explains how easy this procedure is.

Do you accept insurance plans or HSA/FSA payments?

We do not accept insurance, but you are welcome to use your HSA or FSA plans to cover the cost of the medical program. Weight loss is a medically-defined cost and maybe eligible for patients to use their HSA or FSA plans

My insurance stopped covering my Semaglutide, Tirzepatide (Ozempic or Wegovy). Can I start at the same dose?

Yes! One of the many advantages of having your own vial is dosing based on your specific needs. All dosing is discussed and decided upon by your licensed medical provider.

What is the refund policy?

You can cancel your membership at anytime. Login to the portal and select to cancel your membership. Any billed membership fees are non-refundable and will not be pro-rated.
